What Helped One Golfer’s Putting Yips
Dr. Patrick Cohn, golf psychology expert and author of the “Golfer’s Mental Edge” CD program, teaches amateur to tour professional golfers how to improve their mental game of golf using golf psychology strategies developed over the last 20 years of his career.
In this week’s golf psychology session, mental game of golf expert and author of The Mental Game of Golf, Dr. Cohn, responds to a golfer who has found a solution to his putting yips.
“Have you had the putting or chipping yips and found a long term solution that has worked for you? I’d love to get feedback from you. I recently heard from a reader that downloaded my ‘Anti-Yips Putting Drills Report‘on puttingyips.com. Franz said, ‘You give me hope. What seems to help at the moment is to concentrate on just a spot in front of the ball and do the back swing with the putter as freely as possible. I watch the spot till after the putter head passes the spot. I am at this stage where I’m not over concerned with the result of the putt. I will overcome this invisible enemy of enjoyable golf.’”
